Contrary to the name (Cloudwatching™), clouds are not required! Being in a comfortable resting pose while looking at the sky promotes a calm and intuitive state, regardless of the sky patterns. See the “Science” section in the app to learn more.
While watching the clouds go by was what originally inspired the name for the Cloudwatching™ Method, observing the sky as a whole is what the practice of Cloudwatching™ centers around. Any sky is beautiful, soothing, and uplifting, clouds or not.

5 minutes is all that is required. Most Cloudwatchers experience a sense of slowing down and experience calm in as few as 5 minutes. They felt well-rested after 15 minutes. You can always Cloudwatch for longer if that works better for you.

Absolutely! There is as much variety in the sky at night as there is during the day. If you’re curious, you can experiment and see if your experience is enhanced when Cloudwatching™ during the day versus the night.

If the temperature is cold but tolerable, you have the option to bundle up, e.g. with a coat, hat, and/or mittens. However, if it is unsafe or unhealthy to be outdoors, you can lie down on a bed, couch, or chair near a window that allows you to have a partial view of the sky. It is important that you are comfortable in order to promote relaxation while Cloudwatching™.

Like meditation, Cloudwatching™ involves taking a specific posture, setting an intention, focusing upon an object of contemplation, and becoming so absorbed in the infinity of that object that the small mind realizes it is part of a much larger consciousness, and so finds security and peace. Some people consider Cloudwatching™ their meditation practice. Others Cloudwatch before they practice a different kind of meditation. You can Cloudwatch for the experience of relaxation, stress management, meditation, or whatever is right for you.
